Carved Tungsten Rings

Tungsten carbide rings are wedding bands and fashion rings that represent forever by the virtually indestructible nature of the metal. The forever luster against a high polished or brushed finish will be sure to accommodate even the pickiest of shoppers.

The technology for manufacturing tungsten rings is vastly evolving to the creation of more unique metal ring styles. Carved tungsten carbide rings have entered the market being manufacturing by a limited number of companies. Originally carbide rings were simple, yet classic styles featuring high polished dome and flat wedding band styles. Most of these rings also featured a comfort fit which made wearing a band more comfortable for both men and women. Classic tungsten ring styles soon developed into lasered engraved styles and then adding a more unique black and gold zirconium plated tungsten ring to reach even a broader market.

Carved tungsten rings have taken the tungsten metal to a new level by creating deep grooves in the rings. The deeper grooves take the place of laser engraving which, at times, can be slightly light colored on the metal. Carved ring styles stand out creating a deep statement. The ring styles can be manufactured for both men and women.

Celtic ring designs make ideal carved tungsten rings due to the deep symbolic meaning behind the design. Celtic rings typically represent love, happiness and life which also symbolically defines marriage. Purchasing carved Celtic wedding bands with these designs will certainly ensure that your ring will remain beautiful forever.

A New Beginning in Life-Living in Lake Chapala

The reason why many people who retire talk about new beginnings is because after living a life of working for money, paying the mortgage, having a car, and accomplishing all the material standards of society, people discover that nobody knows who in the beginning said they had to do all these things, and, well, after living the fast life for many years, now comes the opportunity to retire, which means, stop working and… then what?

"Well, nothing, I am retired," answer some. And others answer, "What do you mean?" …well, I mean a new beginning in life!

Have you ever dreamed of doing something different? Have you ever dreamed of having time to dedicate yourself to something you wished you could do since you were a child? Were there any things you wanted to start, but never had time to finish? Did you ever, while working, think of all the things you could be doing if you were at home? Did you ever do something you enjoyed as a child and then didn't have time to do it anymore?

What about playing a musical instrument? Painting? Cooking! Learning how to quilt? Oh, I always wished I could sew like my grandmother used to! Learning about animals, plants, history, architecture, different cultures? You know what I used to dream? I used to dream I was Jacques Cousteau's daughter, and I still enjoy watching the documentaries and reading his books! Did you use to write poems when you were a teenager in love? Or maybe you wanted to learn to carve wood or stone like Michelangelo? Do you like music? Did you know you can play it on your computer and use your wide screen TV to watch the videos with surround sound? Do you remember how much you used to enjoy the chirping of the birds or the croaking of the frogs? Have you ever had a hummingbird feeder?

Well, I am sure that you have many more ideas… would you like to share them with your neighbors and friends? I met a couple w¬¬ho came on a Focus on Mexico program; they bought a house before the program started and stayed in Lake Chapala. After the program finished, one day I ran into them on the street and told them how worried I was about them needing something. They were in a rush because they had something to do. And every time I see them, they always have something to do. They sold their car shortly after moving here and each bought a scooter. She took up tennis lessons. They now have two MM dogs (Mexican Mutts). They have a myriad of friends they socialize with and they are enjoying life to the fullest.

So what do people learn after they retire? They learn that all you have to do is give it a try… yes, try the food and learn about what you are eating. Go back to basics and exercise or learn something new, something that appeals to your interest. Some people say that what they learned about their retirement was that they spent their life doing what they were supposed to do and never what they really, really, really wanted to do…

But living in Lake Chapala gives you the opportunity to start again, to begin a new life. To discover who you are and follow the lead of your dreams, and when you run out of dreams, make a new list. You can always be reborn and reinvent yourself.

There are many people who found their new life in Lake Chapala…found it through art, music, charities, sports, reading and writing clubs, cooking, and other activities that have enhanced their lives and turned them into something they didn't even imagine when they first made the choice to move here. Just ask the lady who appeared in a play for the first time in her life. Or our friend who has decorated her windows with her own stained glass creations. Or, another friend who had never painted in her life whose paintings are now capturing the beauty of Mexico as well as many fans. All of us have hundreds of stories like this.

Here you now have the time to meet new and exciting people who are interested in the things you are interested in. You just have to get out and make friends with them. These kind of people are here; you just have to be alert and ready for a new experience. They will give you new ideas and show you new ways to do what you are thinking about.

"I'll tell you, one thing is for sure. You are here right now! Do less lunches out and learn how to cook. Do less shopping and create something for yourself, even if you don't mean to sell it…" Gerry Krause – local artist who came from San Francisco in 2003 – says, "It is what you make it. You are you and it is all here."

A Health Care Career as a Medical Assistant

The need for experienced technical and medical workers who have the ability to manage both medical and administrative functions is increasing. This need is especially seen with doctors who want to spend more time with their patients. In recent years, medical assistant careers have become more in demand as the health care industry has seen a tremendous increase in job openings in this field. The health care industry is increasingly seeing the value of having trained medical assistants on staff. A Medical Assistant (MA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) provides a number of medical and administrative tasks in the field of medicine. They assist physicians and nurses with delivering patient care.

Duties of a medical assistant can include: explaining treatment, medications, diet schedules, and procedures to the patient, monitoring and recording vital signs, preparing patients for medical exams, assisting physicians during a patient's medical exam, instructing patients about medications and special diets, preparation and administration of medications, prepare patients for X-rays, take electrocardiograms, perform simple lab tests, disposing of contaminated supplies, sterilization of medical instruments, drawing blood, changing wound dressing, and removing sutures. A medical assistant's administrative tasks can include: maintaining medical records, billing and clerical duties, scheduling appointments, arranging for admission to the hospital, and maintaining health supplies.

Medical assistants can be found working in hospitals, medical clinics, and in specialized medical areas. Education programs can be either a one year certificate or a two-year associate's degree from an accredited school. Medical assistant training programs are provided by community colleges and vocational/technical training schools. Study areas include: first aid, medical billing, lab testing, patient care, medical terminology, administration, math, science, and more.

After completing a medical assistance program, one can sign up to take the certification exam to become a Certified Medical Assistance. The course is offered three times per year by the American Association of Medical Assistants. The certification has to be renewed every five years. There are some employers that do not require the certification, but Certified Medical Assistants will normally have more job choices and receive a higher pay than Medical Assistants.

Employment is projected to grow much faster (35 percent) than average which has placed medical assistants as among the fastest growing occupations over the years 2006- 2016. Job opportunities are expected to be extensive, particularly for those with training, experience, and certification.

According to the American Medical Association website, salary ranges for medical assistants range from about '$22,000 to just over $30,000 annually.' Other benefits such as health insurance may also be offered.

As the health care industry expands because of the advancements of technology in medicine as well as the aging of the population, there will be an increased need for health care workers of all areas. The use of medical assistants in the fast growing health care industry will increase.

Medical Assistants have become a highly valued asset in medical clinics and hospitals. Working under the supervision of doctors, nurses, and other health practitioners, medical assistants help make the health care system run much smoother and more efficiently.
